Procrastination
Ever tell yourself that YES I have to start going to the gym or that I have to start dieting and I will start next Friday but as Friday approaches you just want to delay it to the next Friday... well my lovely readers that is Procrastination.
Procrastination is the one habit that no matter how hard I try, I can just never give up. But that does not give me a reason to stop! You ever want to do a task but you just get distracted with everything around you like your phone by checking social media like you are some kind of celebrity, or remembering thousands of other tasks instead of focusing on the one you just started... well you are not the only one. Every person has their own weakness, their own strength, their own ways that they overcome things in their life. There is a reason for everything we do in our lives so with that being said there has to be a reason for a lot of people procrastinating... right?
What is procrastination?
Science has definition for everything in our lives so it most definitely has a meaning of procrastination as well. Science describes procrastination as: avoiding work or your daily tasks by focusing more on satisfying activities due to a chemical in the brain. In more simpler words, act of delaying a set of task or postponing them which we all can't help but do... I mean come on let's just blame it on the chemical in our Brain :) Procrastination is one of the most negative things in our lives that we intend to have. It can lead to depression, irrational behavior or anxiety.
Why do we procrastinate?
Ways to overcome Procrastination:
There is always a way to defeat the negativity in your life and Procrastination being one of the negative impacts in our life... Let's look in some ways to try to defeat procrastination and become a better person.
Here are some ways you can stop becoming a procrastinator:
1.Create a deadline for your work:
Having only one deadline for a work may get you distracted a lot and you may think to your self that you have a lot of time and you can finish it later... Instead have multiple deadlines for small task. For example: For one whole project time your self how much work you can complete in a given amount of time. It will be much helpful to you and also challenging for your self which will make you want to the task faster.
change your desk place or a room where you usually sit with a different and comfortable environment, a place where you would love to work, where you confidently know that if you sit and do your work at this place you will not get distracted.
This is one of the best ways because completing a big task in a short period of time may get too overwhelming and you may just get tired and not want to do it anymore. Breaking down your work can be much easier for you as it helps you into understanding what your activity is about and gets the work done faster.
This one may seem a bit difficult at first but I guarantee you that it can get a lot of work done and at much faster rate. All you need is to get your mind focused on your tasks and you will be good to go. Just close down all of the devices that you do not need and keep them as far as away from you as possible or give it to someone you can trust. It's also better to have your favorite drink and something to eat next to you so you don't have to take trips to the kitchen every time and get interrupted from your work on the way... come on we all know that can happen.
5. Work with a Friend:
It's better to work with a friend who has a little control over you and can stop you from getting absentminded in the middle of your task. It helps you get your work done easily and also gives you a little sweet advantage of you spending some time with your friend.

Such a clear depiction of procrastination
