Loneliness

that heartbreaking feeling of unwanted isolation or that lack of connection with that special someone 

those deep breaths and sudden realization 

Oh how I never thought I too would know how it feels 

That feeling like you're rejected,

misunderstood,

and suddenly not at all beautiful 

the feeling that eats you inside slowly and painfully 

it is akin to dust on your skin 

that becomes thick and heavy 

with every empty day 

until your eyes are flooded 

and your lungs are full 

this loneliness feeling is infinite, 

my heart is trapped with it 

with no escape to be seen 

It resembles fire,

something I hug against my flesh 

to test my threshold for pain, 

Prior to sprinting towards the sea...

when there is little color 

and mostly greys 

The feeling that wants me to flee 

Far away, in a place where nobody knows me 

to begin over and find the one who can support me 

and suppress this emotion 

the day you can give me a big embrace, hold my hand, and never let go while supporting me in overcoming this inner sensation
