Mental illness
Mental illness is a very important subject which most parents, students and many people don't take account of. It's a topic that everyone should look upon every once in a while.
I understand that a lot of parents think that this subject is not that important even when their children want to talk about it. A parent should understand that poor mental health can lead to mental and physical illnesses.
Mental illness, also known as mental health disorders are health conditions that involve changes in a person's emotion, thinking or behaviour. It affects our day to day living.
What causes mental illness:
Mental illness can be caused by a reaction to environmental stresses, genetic factors, biochemical imbalances or it can be a combination of these.
If you have a feeling like your mental health is in danger then here are the 5 signs of mental illnesses:
1. Anxiety or excessive paranoia
2. Long lasting sadness
3. Change in sleeping pattern or eating
4. Extreme changes in your mood.
5. And social withdrawl.
Mental illness are caused 1 in 5 adults in any given year. It can begin at any age, from childhood through later adult years, but in most cases it begins earlier in life. The effects can be temporary or long lasting so it's always much better to get help as soon as possible. It is also possible to have one or more mental health disorder at the same time.
Mental illnesses can be scary and can sometimes ruin lives for a lot of people. If your friend is going through a mental illness and you don't understand how that person is feeling... let me tell you what mental illness looks like:
Each illness has it's own symptoms but commom sign of mental illness can be feeling worried for a long time or having fear. Feeling excessively sad or down most of the times. A person can be confused about their thinkings and can have huge problems in learning and concentrating.
So before saying anything to a person you know is suffering from any mental illness please think about what you are going to say them and consider their feelings.
