Studying abroad: is it as easy as it sounds.

 

Every student dreams of studying abroad as it provides the individual with a gift of freedom. It makes us realize how we had taken our parents for granted and how our lives were so much easier when all we did was sit on our beds and never take responsibility, the good old days.

Studying abroad gives the student the opportunity to take in the allure and culture of a new land. It gives the chance for the student to explore the country they have always been interested in while taking classes in a nearby college or university. It opens up many opportunities for the student and helps them in communicating with international students giving them a boost of confidence. In my own personal experience studying abroad kind of boosted my self esteem in a surprising way which I still failed to understand how. It opens up a number of job opportunities for the students as they becomes fluent in the language and has a broader range of learning than other students. studying abroad makes the student more interested in their studies as they feel like they are one step closer to their dreams.

Studying abroad has its downsides more than ups. It throws some extra challenges and creates major self doubt and transitions you into a self dependent person in a short period of time. It makes you loose motivation, and the person starts lacking energy and become very less enthusiastic as the time goes by.

Not everyone talks about the bad side while staying abroad, mostly on social media you will see the outgoing trips and friends having fun with each other and all the laughs and smiles, but no one will ever show you the sleepless nights, the homesickness, the memories rushing back to you every alternative day. the soundless crying. It's very easy to get distracted and there is no one to guide you and force you to study.

Studying abroad is not all glitter and gold. no one shows the bad side of anything. you have to grind each and every day. You have to make yourself stand each and everyday even if life pushes you down,
